This section helps to explain what EA Emergency Family Shelter is and what you can expect during your stay in shelter. 

How long can my family stay in EA Emergency Family Shelter?

There is a new 9-month time limit for families in the EA Emergency Family Shelter program to transition out of shelter and into stable housing. This “Length of Stay” policy was signed into law in April 2024. More detailed information will be available shortly.

Re-Housing and Exiting Shelter

While in shelter, you will have to make a plan to find stable housing. In this section, you can learn more about that process and the programs available to you, like HomeBASE which can provide you up to $30,000 over two years, with the possibility of a third year of help, to help you secure stable housing.
