Program overview

The Massachusetts Clean Cities Coalition (MCCC) is part of a nationwide partnership sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Clean Cities Program. Our coalitions mission is to advance the Commonwealth's environment, energy security and economic prosperity through collaboration with communities by building partnerships with public and private stakeholders that create equitable deployment of clean transportation solutions for all.

In March 1994, Boston became the 7th U.S. city to be designated a Clean Cities Coalition. In 1999, this Coalition became the present-day statewide program, the Massachusetts Clean Cities Coalition.

Who can join

Public-private partnerships developed through stakeholders are integral to the coalition's success. Organizations interested in clean transportation and energy can become a Massachusetts Clean Cities Coalition stakeholder. Businesses, institutions, and governments are encouraged to join! Your commitment will help grow the alternative fuel vehicle market. If your organization has a fleet, you can also learn how to reduce its carbon footprint.

Stakeholder meetings and upcoming events

The MACCC is planning on restarting its stakeholder meetings in 2024 but does not have a defined timeline for when that will begin. Meetings will feature current rebate, incentive and policy information, updates on the market, and opportunities to network with other Clean Cities stakeholders. Meeting locations will vary across the state, and we encourage all who are interested to attend.
