Offerings for MEMA FY 2020 BRIC & FMA Technical Assistance and Webinars/Briefings

MEMA is offering BRIC informational grant briefings (webinars), training on Benefit-Cost Analysis software, and instructions for the FEMA GO portal. The MEMA website will be updated regularly with dates and registration information. Recordings and slides for trainings will be made available on the MEMA website. Please note that additional training sessions may become available during the grant application period and will be posted on this page.

FEMA Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) Grants Outcomes (FEMA GO) Training Videos

FEMA Training on Top 10 Mistakes When Purchasing Under a FEMA Award

The FEMA's Grant Programs Directorate is introducing an online 1-hour training to provide guidance to FEMA award recipients and sub-recipients on the most frequent procurement noncompliance issues as reported by the OIG and provides available resources to help avoid these mistakes.

Target Audience:

FEMA employees and FEMA award recipients and subrecipients, which include; state, territorial, tribal, and local government personnel, nonprofit organization staff, eligible private entities, and other non-Federal entities.

Topics include:

  • Federal procurement rules for states and non-state entities
  • Full and open competition
  • Sole sourcing
  • Time-and-materials contract types
  • Contract provisions
  • Contractor integrity
  • Documentation requirements
  • Tools and resources for procurement under grants

FEMA July 2020 BRIC Mitigation Webinars

Please see the following information below on a series of July FEMA mitigation webinars providing an overview of the new Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) grant program. The Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) Summer Engagement Series brought FEMA Subject Matter Experts and partners together one day a week during the month of July to discuss key elements of the newly developed BRIC program. These virtual sessions are geared towards leaders in states, local communities, tribes and territories, as well as private sector entities, private non-profit organizations, and individuals interested in learning more about the grant program.

Each Wednesday in July from 2-3 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), FEMA will host an engagement session webinar. Learn more or register for the BRIC Summer Engagement Series. July 15, 2020 UPDATE: Registration limit reached on remaining webinars; system is not accepting new registrations at this time. Presentation .pdf files maybe downloaded at the above website, and recordings of the weekly presentations will be linked below as they are posted to FEMA's website.
