Letter from the Secretary

Stop Addiction in its Tracks

Dear Friend:

Thank you for visiting Stop Addiction in its Tracks, one of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' opioid addiction prevention, treatment and recovery public information campaign. On these pages you will find information about the early warning signs of prescription opioid misuse, guidance on how to talk to your children and teens about addiction, and phone numbers and links for treatment. This website will be updated periodically as new resources become available.

As you know, we are in the midst of an opioid epidemic in the Commonwealth. The Governor has released the finding of his 18-member Opioid Addiction Working Group with 65 specific, actionable changes that should provide relief for individuals and families dealing with this crisis.

We are all in this together. Together, we can Stop Addiction in its Tracks.

Marylou Sudders
Secretary, Executive Office of Health and Human Services
Chair, Governor’s Opioid Addiction Working Group
