SDVEI programming is culturally relevant and meets the specific needs of survivors with disabilities, Black survivors, lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender survivors, immigrants and refugee survivors, and/or survivors who are residents of rural communities. In providing services that promote equity, programs work in partnership with survivors, their children, and/or dependents to develop a comprehensive understanding of their whole situation, as whole people, in the full context of their lives.
