Promotes the breeding of racehorses within the Commonwealth

The Department of Agricultural Resources promotes the breeding of Thoroughbred and Standardbred racehorses in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 128 sections 2(g) and 2(j). The Division of Animal Health administers the registration programs in conjunction with the Massachusetts State Gaming Commission and the respective breed representative organizations. Please be aware that there are various deadlines for registering broodmares, stallions and foals.
