my name is Erica Weir I am the specialty
counselor with NextGen with the North
Region and I specifically work with
individuals with low or impaired Vision.
I maintain a close relationship with the
Mass Commission for the Blind, I
also have an extensive background in
social work and I am able to use my past
experience with a lot of soft skill
training and discovering strengths and areas of
growth growth with participants that I
work with to make them successful in
their dream career. I really appreciate a
multi-disciplinary outlook on problems, I
feel like it's extremely beneficial to
have multiple people combat one problem and come out
with multiple solutions. The co-workers
have been extremely supportive, they come
with a wealth of knowledge of resource
in the local region, great trainings
that really match the needs of the
participants that we work with and it's
been really welcoming. Something that I
would share with a NextGenner who is
maybe a little intimidated or scared
about the next step in their life is to
be kind to themselves take their time,
you're going through a lot you're
building a lot of skills and that takes
patience. In my spare time I really like
to cook and I like to Garden, I also
have two really big dogs, a St Bernard
and a new Finland, when I'm not working
I'm out hanging out with my boys. I look
forward to working with you and
