welcome to hunters connect. I'm Jana and
we're going to talk about archery
hunting. In this video we are going to
cover the basic points to sight in a
compound bow. Sighting your bow is all
about consistent accuracy. To do this
correctly your shooting needs to be
repeatable and consistent. Be sure your
bow is properly tuned, your rest is
properly set, and your sight is properly
aligned with your bowstring. All of this
can be done at a good pro shop. Have all
your equipment consistent. Make sure
every arrow is exactly the same. The same
spine, the same length, the same weight,
and the same point. That is critical for
repeatable consistency during your sight
in. Try to have the best possible
conditions sight in and an indoor
facility or during a low winds and fair
weather situation after your sighted in.
You can practice in varying conditions.
Most sites have a pin system. Your site
will usually have multiple pins for each
known distance. Save twenty, thirty, and
forty yards with the top pin for the
closest distance and your bottom pin for
the longest distance. Adjusting your
sight accordingly can get a bit tricky
but if you think about your point of aim
compared to your point of impact it will
make sense. The simple way to follow it
is to follow your shot. If your shot is
low move your sight down. If your shot is
left move your sight left. Repeat this
process until your point of aim and
point of impact are consistently the
same. Thanks for watching hunters connect.
