transcript  Meet Denyse Bardouille

Coria Holland (voiceover): Join us on Wednesday, March 11th for the sixth annual Massachusetts Trial Court Women's History Month Ceremony and Conference. The theme is Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future. This year's event, which is in collaboration with Massasoit Community College, will be held at the Skating Club of Boston. We are honoring 10 trailblazing women. Introducing Honoree Denyse Bardouille, first black female probation officer for the Massachusetts Probation Service.

Denyse Bardouille: My name is Denyse Bardouille First, I want to thank the Massachusetts Trial Court for selecting me as an honoree for the Sixth Annual Women's History Month Ceremony and Conference.  At this time, I wanna quote Serena Williams: "Every woman's success should be an inspiration to another. We are stronger when we cheer each other on." I'm a retired assistant Chief Probation Officer for the Suffolk Superior Court in Boston. My co-worker, Maria Cabral, and I ran the first Women's Resource Center in that court. The center provided many necessary resources needed for women as an alternative to prison.
