transcript  OLPA Chapter 05: What happens while I'm out on leave?

When you're on leave, we want to make sure you're as focused on yourself as possible. So let's get ahead of the question. "What happens while you're out on leave?"

Your approval letter will have specific instructions and steps you need to take while you're out. Nothing here is intrusive or overwhelming, and you are not expected to work while on leave. However, you may hear from your Commonwealth team for specific information. For example, your manager or supervisor may reach out to ask for critical operational needs, like if they need a password only you know. During your leave, you'll also need to be in contact with your HR department's leave liaison and OLPA, each for certain things. You'll work with your HR department's leave liaison for info on how your absence will be tracked in your time sheet, and who is responsible for tracking, any questions about health insurance, and return to work clearance. You'll work with OLPA to submit updated paperwork as needed and very importantly, any changes to your leave, such as adding more time or changing the end date.

Reach out to OLPA right away if your plans for leave change. And that's it. We wish you the best, as always, and remind you that we're not going anywhere. When life changes, we're here to help.
