Adult Day Health Licensure

Licensure information for programs that provide nursing care, supervision, and health related support services in a structured group setting.

The Department of Public Health (DPH) licenses Adult Day Health Programs in Massachusetts, regardless of whether the program participates in MassHealth. Below, find initial licensure applications, regulations and guidance documents, and information about DPH communication with Adult Day Health Programs.

Temporary Medicaid Provider Enrollment Moratorium Effective May 19, 2026: CMS granted approval for MassHealth to implement a temporary six-month provider enrollment moratorium. This moratorium does not impact initial licensure of Adult Day Health Programs. For questions concerning the moratorium, please contact the MassHealth Customer Service Center at 1-800-841-2900.
