Child Advocate Nominating Committee

The Office of the Child Advocate Nominating Committee was established by statute of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 18C, Section 3.

The work of the nominating committee is coordinated by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) and is comprised of fourteen members including the Secretary of EOHHS and a diverse body of policymakers, child health and welfare professionals, legal experts, and clinicians. The Nominating Committee members are charged with nominating three individuals who are submitted to the attorney general, state auditor, and the governor who will appoint the child advocate by majority vote.
