The Commission issued a further decision regarding relief as it relates to a Bridgewater Police Sergeant who was inappropriately bypassed for appointment to police lieutenant.

Since the Appellant has also filed a discrimination complaint with the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, the Civil Service Commission is dismissing this appeal until MCAD has issued a final decision on the Appellant’s complaint.

Bypass appeal denied. The Town established by a preponderance of the evidence that the decision to bypass the Appellant was reasonably justified for sound and sufficient reasons, including, in particular, a pattern of motor vehicle infractions, a history of violent behavior and poor neighbor references.
