DCAMM Statewide Accessibility Initiative

Working with Commonwealth agencies to make their programs and facilities equally accessible to persons with disabilities.

Ensuring that design and construction of the Commonwealth’s buildings comply with state and federal accessibility regulations. Since 2010, the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance's (DCAMM's) Statewide Accessibility Initiative has provided assessment and technical assistance to agencies, building manager, designers and contractors to address the state’s compliance obligations.

The Statewide Accessibility Initiative provides:
• Strategic compliance assessment and planning for state agencies to meet their civil rights obligations
• Review of building plans for compliance with accessibility regulations
• Training materials for facility managers to operate buildings with accessibility in mind
• Technical assistance on accessibility and universal design for architects, contractors, and state agency staff
