LANGUAGE ASSISTANCE
If you do not speak English well and need help applying for or understanding the Emergency Assistance program, DHCD will provide free over-the-phone language translation services.
Applying:
During the Covid-19 crisis, DHCD field offices will not be open to the public for in person applications.
To apply for Emergency Assistance and speak with a Homeless Coordinator please call (866) 584-0653
By phone: If you apply over the phone, tell the person who answers what language you speak and an over-the-phone interpreter will be provided to you free of charge.
Program participant:
If you have already been determined eligible and placed in a shelter, and you need an interpreter to help you understand a document you received or something else about the program, tell your shelter provider that you speak a language other than English, and an over-the-phone interpreter will be provided to you free of charge.
DHCD Main office:
If you need language assistance, and you call the DHCD main office at 617-573-1106, an over-the-phone interpreter will be provided to you free of charge.
