Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for Children

Our goal is to reduce pediatric mortality and morbidity resulting from severe illness or trauma.

Emergency assistance is not available through this website. In an emergency, dial 911 immediately.

Every year in Massachusetts, there are more than 65,000 activations of emergency medical services for pediatric patients. Additionally, more than 600,000 pediatric patients visit Emergency Departments across the state. The Emergency Medical Services for Children program collaborates with local, state, and federal partners to ensure pediatric patients receive the best care anywhere in the state. Performance measures are used to benchmark achievements while working to continuously improve the care provided.
