EOVS Logo Contest

Unleash your creativity! The Executive Office of Veterans Services proudly announces a statewide contest for people to design the new EOVS logo.

Contest Details

Theme:

We seek to honor and exemplify what being a veteran in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts means. Whether you have served on the frontlines or supported our heroes from home, your story matters. The logo should reflect the values of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Veterans Services and exemplify resilience, respect, and the unyielding spirit that embodies the heart of a veteran and their families.  

Participation:

The contest is open to all 18+ residents in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. 

Submission Guidelines:

  • The logo must be an original creation. 
  • Submissions should be in a scaleable vector format (e.g., AI, EPS, SVG) and include a high-resolution PNG or JPEG version. 
  • The colors should complement the organization's identity and adhere to the Massachusetts Government’s brand style guidelines.
  • The design should reflect American Disabilities Act (ADA) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2).
  • Logo should not include the following: offensive remarks, weapons, or single out a specific branch of the military.  
  • Include write-up submission that explains your logo.

Selection Process:  

  • Deadline: The deadline for submissions will be October 11, 2023. All entries must be sent through the submission portal on our website. 

Intellectual Property: 

By submitting their designs, participants agree to transfer all intellectual property rights of the selected logo to the Massachusetts Executive Office of Veterans' Services. The organization will have full rights to use, modify, or reproduce the logo in any medium for official purposes.

Terms and Conditions

Eligibility: This Contest is open only to those who are over the age of 18 and who are legal residents of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (“the Commonwealth”).

Agreement to Terms and Conditions: By participating, the Entrant (“You”) agrees to be fully unconditionally bound by these Terms and Conditions, and You represent and warrant that You meet the eligibility requirements. In addition, You agree to accept the decisions of the Executive Office of Veterans’ Services (“EOVS”) as final and binding as it relates to the content of this Contest.

Rights Granted by You:  As between EOVS and You, submission of a design constitutes the transfer of all intellectual property rights in the design to the Commonwealth. 

By submitting a design to EOVS, the Entrant agrees that submission does not infringe the right of any third party, including without limitation any third party's copyright, and that such submission is permitted by U.S. law.  The Entrant agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold the Commonwealth, its employees, agents, licensees, sublicensees, and assigns, harmless against all claims, suits, costs, damages, losses, expenses (including court costs, and reasonable attorneys' fees), settlements, and judgments arising out of or related to the Entrant’s breach of agreement to these terms, or for infring
