Public Meeting Notice  Acton – reconstruction of Route 2A/119 (Great Road), from Davis Road to Harris Street

Thursday, December 10, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.

Overview

A Virtual Public Informational Meeting will be hosted on the MassDOT website below to present the design for the proposed project in Acton, MA.

Purpose:

The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed reconstruction of Route 2A/119 (Great Road) from Davis Road to Harris Street. All views and comments made at the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.

Proposal:

The proposed project consists of multimodal “complete streets” improvements for all users along the corridor including the opportunity for an accessible shared use path on the north side of Great Road and an accessible sidewalk on the southern side. Additional high visibility crossings on Great Road are proposed to enhance access and connectivity between the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail, nearby residences, Veterans Memorial Park, and local businesses. The project also includes an evaluation of traffic operations and geometric improvements at the Great Road and Main Street intersection.

MassDOT provides translation, interpretation, and other reasonable accommodations upon request. Requests should be made at least ten (10) business days prior to the event. Please contact MassDOT’s Highway Project Accommodations office at MassDOTHighwayProjectAccommodations@dot.state.ma.us for your accommodation needs.

This meeting will be hosted, or a cancellation announcement posted, on this website.
