Meeting Minutes – Open Session

In accordance with the provisions of G.L. c. 30A § 20, the Board of Registration of Architects convened a meeting on: 

February 17, 2026 via Microsoft Teams Meeting 

The topics shown below were discussed at the aforementioned meeting: 9:00 A.M. the Chair, Aelan Tierney, called the open meeting to order. 

Informational note: All votes were taken by roll call. Where each member voted in favor, the vote will be reported as unanimous.

Board members present:

   1. Kerry Dietz made a motion, and it was seconded by Edward Ransom, and the members present by majority VOTED: to accept the minutes as written

   1. Reinstatement 2026-0104-REIN
      1. Edward Ransom made a motion, and it was seconded by Kerry Dietz, and the members present by majority VOTED: to Reinstate

1. Kerry Dietz made a motion, and it was seconded by Edward Ransom, and the members present by majority VOTED: to open a new complaint to determine whether the individual was practicing as an architect while they were unlicensed

   1. Guidance for applicants under new regulations
      1. Newest regulations created a pathway for non-NAAB schools
      2. Applicants will be brought before the board to determine what combination works for education and experience
      3. Agency is working on putting language together for the board to react to
4. Executive Director and Board Counsel Reports:
   1. Executive Director reported – Executive Director reported a licensing update
      1. 62 applications this year
      2. 7 of 453 applications remaining from 2025, all 7 have failed to submit NCARB record, 2 are soon to expire as they approach their year anniversary
      3. 47 currently active either pending review or waiting for response from applicant
   2. Board Counsel reported – Board Counsel had nothing to report
5. Discussedother matters not reasonably anticipated 48 hours in advance of the meeting. No Matters presented.
6. Investigative Conference (M.G.L. c. 112, § 65C – Closed session)
   1. At 9:29 A.M. Edward Ransom made a motion, and it was seconded by Kerry Dietz, and the members present by majority VOTED: to exit Open meeting and move into Investigative Conference, and the board will not reconvene in Public Session
