Saturday Hiking Series

Get to know beautiful shoreline views of the Wachusett Reservoir with this hiking series in each of the four towns of the reservoir. The winter landscape reveals features hidden the rest of the year. Hikes are moderate, with some hills to rewarding views from a new perspective each week. 

Earth, Wind, and Fire Hike

Meet at Wachusett Reservoir Gate 39 North Dike, Rt 110 Clinton. Parking at the intersection of South Meadow Road and Route110, Clinton. About 2.5 miles round trip to the Wachusett Dam and back.

This open hillside walk along the North Dike offers scenic views over the water supply that provides clean drinking water to over three million people. Be prepared for windy conditions. This family friendly walk takes you through a railroad rock cut to the spillway and points of interest around the Wachusett Dam.  

Dress in layers with sturdy footwear, be prepared for windy conditions near the water. Bring water and trekking poles, traction devices, or snowshoes depending on trail conditions, and your sense of adventure!

Dogs are not allowed on water supply protection lands.
