Creatures of the Forest - Sterling Spur Hike 10/5/24

Meet at Mass Central Rail Trail - Sterling Spur, 25 Gates Road, Sterling. 

Explore what the wild things in the watershed are up to in Autumn along the Sensory Trail section. This program is designed to be intentionally inclusive and accessible for a safe interaction with the outdoors. Along a ¾-mile round trip trail, the group will be guided through a series of sensory invitations. This trail is nestled between two water bodies and lined with trees and plants near a variety of habitats that animals use as shelter. Discover clues of tracks, scat and other telltale signs that wildlife leaves behind. Benches are placed along the way for resting areas. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome. Program is free and open to all ages and abilities. 

Dogs are not allowed on water supply protection lands.

Hike will be a slow pace and last about one hour. In the case of inclement weather, hike may be cancelled or modified. To check on hike status please call 774-261-1809 or email Kathryn.Parent@mass.gov.
