First Annual Crossing Guard Appreciation

Crossing Guard of the year nominations are due by March 24, 2021

Crossing guards play an important role supporting our families’ safety as they access schools and neighborhoods across the Commonwealth. This first ever Annual Crossing Guard Appreciation campaign begins with a crossing guard of the year nomination process, followed by Crossing Guard Appreciation Day, and culminates with announcing the Crossing Guard(s) of the Year award winners at our Annual Safe Routes to School Awards Ceremony in June. The overall goal is to draw attention to and honor the hard work of crossing guards across Massachusetts and to recognize those crossing guards who go beyond.

• February 22, 2021: Nominations open 
• February 22 - March 24, 2021: Celebrate your Crossing Guard(s) all throughout the month of March by downloading our thank you cards and flyers, and by posting on social media
• March 24, 2021: Crossing Guard Appreciation Day and the deadline to submit nominations for Crossing Guard of the Year
• June, 2021: SRTS Awards Ceremony - We will announce and recognize the winner of the first Annual Crossing Guard of the Year Award
