Overview of Hike to the Narrows (Gate 8) 10/12/2024

Meet at Wachusett Reservoir Gate 8, Intersection of Cross Street and Route 70, Boylston. About 2.5 miles round trip.
Join us as we find the shore at the narrowest part of the reservoir. Discover the geology and history, discuss legends and lore of the misfortunes that surrounded the area during construction of the reservoir. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, and bring water.
Dogs are not allowed on water supply protection lands.
Hike will be a slow pace and last about 1.5 hours. In the case of inclement weather, hike may be cancelled or modified. To check on hike status please call 617-352-4044 or email Kathryn.Parent@mass.gov.
