Overview   of Hopkinton - I-495/I-90 Interchange Improvements Project

A Live Virtual 75% Design Public Information Meeting will be hosted on the MassDOT website below to present the design for the proposed I-495/I-90 Interchange Improvements Project in Hopkinton, MA.

Purpose:

The purpose of this Public Information Meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed I-495/I-90 Interchange Improvements Project with a focus on two of the project elements: the Fruit Street Bridge & Ramp ES/SE. All views and comments submitted in response to the Public Information Meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.

Proposal:

The proposed project consists of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) advancing the I-495/I-90 Interchange Improvements Project and has scheduled a Live Virtual 75% Design Public Information Meeting focused on two of the project elements: the Fruit Street Bridge & Ramp ES/SE on January 25 at 6pm. The meeting will begin with a presentation by the project team. Attendees will be provided with a project overview, can view plans for the Fruit Street Bridge & Ramp ES/SE, and ask questions. The purpose of the I-495/I-90 Interchange Improvements Project is to provide a safe and efficient interchange of the interstate highways I‑495 and I-90 while also alleviating traffic congestion. This interchange carries hundreds of thousands of vehicles per day between two of Massachusetts's most significant roadways.

A secure right-of-way is necessary for this project. A temporary easement will be required and has already been acquired with the respective property owner. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is responsible for acquiring all needed rights in private or public lands. MassDOT’s policy concerning land acquisitions will be presented in the Public Information Meeting.

Prior to the meeting, if you have specific questions or concerns for the project team, please email: 495-90Improvements@state.ma.us.
