MA Home Improvement Contractor Program – Virtual Town Hall
Overview
Join the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® and the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation for a Virtual Town Hall focused on the Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor Program and the MA Contractor Hub.
Massachusetts law requires home improvement contractors to register with OCABR. Through the HIC Program, homeowners can review contractor registration status and disciplinary history, file complaints, request arbitration for dispute resolution, and access the Guaranty Fund that may provide up to $25,000 in compensation for unpaid judgments against contractors.
During this webinar, you will learn:
- What the Home Improvement Contractor Program is and how it works
- How to verify contractor registration and review history through the MA Contractor Hub
- What consumer protections are available to homeowners
- How complaint and arbitration programs function
- How to help clients avoid common home improvement scams
