Public Meeting Notice Mass Central Rail Trail (MCRT) Waltham to Weston
Overview of Mass Central Rail Trail (MCRT) Waltham to Weston
The Department of Conservation and Recreation is hosting a public listening session on the proposed Waltham to Weston segment of the Mass Central Rail Trail (MCRT). This 0.5-mile segment is part of a 23-mile former railroad corridor leased from the MBTA by DCR for the creation of a shared-use path between Waltham and Berlin, which in turn is part of the envisioned 104-mile MCRT shared-use path from Boston to Northampton. The segment in Weston and Wayland is complete, and the City of Waltham is building the segment from Route 117 to Beaver Street. This segment would connect those two.
The public will be invited to submit comments after the meeting, with a deadline for receipt by DCR of September 29th, 2022. Comments may be submitted online at https://www.mass.gov/forms/dcr-public-comments. Please note that public comments submitted to DCR may be posted on the DCR website in their entirety, and no information, including personal information, may be redacted.
If you have questions or concerns or would like to be added to an email list to receive DCR general or project-specific announcements, please email mass.parks@mass.gov or call 617-626-4973.
