Public Meeting Notice North Andover - Route 114 corridor improvements - public information meeting
Overview
MassDOT will host an In-Person Public Information Meeting at Merrimack College, at 20 Rockridge Road, Andover, MA, 01845, to present a status update for the Route 114 Corridor Improvements project in North Andover.
Purpose:
The purpose of this meeting is to update the public on the status of the Route 114 Corridor Improvements in North Andover. MassDOT will review the project background, introduce the project’s construction team, review the upcoming construction activities and schedule, and provide a public involvement overview. This event will include a formal presentation followed by an opportunity to ask questions and make comments. Public input will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible. This meeting will be recorded and made available online for those who are unable to attend.
Project:
This project will include corridor improvements along a 2.2-mile stretch of Route 114 in North Andover, Massachusetts, between Waverly Road and Willow Street/Mill Road, consisting of roadway widening, geometric upgrades, and intersection improvements to enhance safety and reduce congestion. The work will provide continuous sidewalks and a separated shared-use path along most of the corridor to improve bicycle and pedestrian accommodations, along with full-depth roadway reconstruction, pavement milling and resurfacing, curb and driveway improvements, drainage system upgrades, culvert replacement, utility relocations, retaining walls, and landscaping. The project installs one new traffic signal, at the Turnpike Street and Hillside Road intersection, and reconstructs eight existing signals, all of which will be interconnected and equipped with adaptive signal control technology to optimize traffic flow based on real-time conditions.
