LAW ENFORCEMENT BODY CAMERA Public Input Subcommittee MEETING
Tuesday, October 5, 2021, 9:30 a.m. virtually
Attending: Chair - Angela Davis, Grace Lee, Kaleigh Marshall, Steven Brooks, DA O’Keefe
Meeting began at 9:35 a.m. Members expressed a need to gather input throughout the state, from all economic and racial backgrounds. It was suggested that elected officials could assist with getting the word out to the public once the dates and format are set.
Group agreed an on-line portal for the public to offer comments is a good initiative. The purpose of this portal is to gather public feedback on the implementation of law enforcement body-worn cameras in the state. We will place hyperlinks into the announcement that goes out to the public allowing access to the live sessions and to submit comments if they cannot attend.
It was suggested that we work on the statement and prompts for the general public to understand what we are doing and how they can offer input. Frame a statement what we are looking to get input on. The group will begin putting a statement together and circulate to each other for comment, and then offer to the larger TF for comment.
Subcommittee will meet again on 10/19 @ 9:30 a.m. Meeting adjourned at 10:20 a.m.
