Public Meeting Notice Richmond Street Bridge Preservation Project - December 4, 2023 public information meeting
Overview
What is happening?
The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed Richmond Street Bridge Preservation project. All views and comments made at the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.
How will this affect you?
The project is scheduled to begin in April 2025. During construction there will be parking restrictions and a 6-week full closure of Richmond Street between Fulton Street and North Street. Pedestrian access will be maintained on one side of Richmond Street at all times and access to abutters will be maintained throughout the project. The contractor will stage construction so that the North End Rehabilitation and Health Care Center parking lot and the dog park will remain open and accessible throughout construction. Nightly single lane reductions on Route 1A North (the Callahan Tunnel approach) will be in place to assist with work on the underside of the bridge.
Project inquiries may be emailed to BridgePreservationProjects@dot.state.ma.us.
