Overview   of Salisbury - proposed resurfacing and related work on Route 1A

A Live Virtual Public Information Meeting will be hosted on the MassDOT website below to present the design for the proposed Resurfacing and Related Work on Route 1A project in Salisbury, MA.

Purpose:

The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed Resurfacing and Related Work on Route 1A project. All views and comments submitted in response to the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.

Proposal:

The proposed project consists of the reconstruction of a portion of Route 1A (North End Boulevard) in Salisbury; construction of a 2-way separated bike lane including crossings; sidewalk and pedestrian curb ramp construction; reconstruction of driveway aprons; removing and replacing guardrail and fence as needed; adjusting, cleaning, rebuilding, and upgrading drainage structures; replacement of drainage structure frames, grates, and covers as needed; removing and resetting granite curbing; replacing any broken granite curbing; removing and resetting of traffic signs; placing final pavement markings; and completing incidental items and as required by the Engineer. Bicycle accommodations consisting of a 2-way separated bike lane have been provided in accordance with applicable design guides.

A secure right-of-way is necessary for this project. Acquisitions in fee and permanent or temporary easements may be required. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is responsible for acquiring all needed rights in private or public lands. MassDOT's policy concerning land acquisitions will be presented in the meeting.
