Public Meeting Notice  Somerset – Intersection improvements at Route 6 and Lees River Avenue

A Public Informational Meeting will be held by MassDOT to discuss the proposed project in Somerset, MA.

Purpose:     

The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed project.  All views and comments submitted in response to the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.

Proposal:   

The proposed project consists of improving safety at the intersection of Route 6 and Lees River Avenue. The intersection was ranked #43 in the Top 200 Crash Clusters List of 2015-2017. A roundabout design is proposed at this intersection, replacing the existing signalized intersection with one shared through-left lane and one shared through-right lane and a single receiving lane. In addition, the project aims to enhance bicycle and pedestrian facilities, as sidewalk facilities are sporadic within project limits and no bicycle facilities are currently present.

This meeting is accessible to people with disabilities.
