Overview of Special Commission to Study the Health and Safety of LGBTQI Prisoners Meeting
Pursuant to the provisions of G.L. c. 30A and 940 CMR 29.00 et seq., the Special Commission to Study the Health and Safety of LGBTQI Prisoners will meet on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, One Ashburton Place Boston, MA 02108.

- Review and Approve Minutes of Previous Meeting (February 13, 2019, minutes previously circulated for commission member review)
- Brief presentation on “WPath.” (Jennifer Levi)
- Brief presentation on “HIV Prevention in Correctional Settings.” (Michael Cox)
- Discussion of issues raised in inmate letters to the Commission.
- Discussion on responses to questionnaires sent to DOC and county facilities.
- Defining LGBTQI Cultural Competency and What Should be Included in Training (Group Discussion).
- Discussion and Update on progress made on various topics required to be addressed in the Commission’s report.
- Discussion on report drafting and timeline for submission.
- Member Comments (Please note this is an opportunity for comment only, not group discussion regarding items not on the agenda.)

The Special Commission may convene an executive session pursuant to M.G.L. c. 30A, § 21(a)(7) (“to comply with, or act under the authority of, any general or special law”) in order to comply with M.G.L. c. 66A (FIPA) and M.G.L. c. 6, § 172 (CORI).
