Public Meeting Notice  Springfield – 3 bridge replacements: St. James Avenue over CSX, Tapley Street over I-291 and CSX, St. James Avenue over I-291

Overview

A Virtual Public Informational Meeting will be hosted on the MassDOT website below to present the design for the proposed project in Springfield, MA.

Purpose:

The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed project. All views and comments submitted in response to the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.

Proposal:

The proposed project consists of the replacement of Bridge S-24-017 (St. James Avenue over CSX) and S-24-071 (St. James Avenueover I-291), along with associated roadway and traffic improvements on St. James Avenue, Page Boulevard, and the St. James Avenue/I-291 Interchange in Springfield, Massachusetts. In conjunction with the St. James Avenue bridge replacement, MassDOT is also proposing the replacement of the Tapley Street bridge (Bridge S-24-070). The project will also prioritize operational efficiency and safety enhancements while incorporating pedestrian and bicycle accommodations as part of the bridge replacement efforts.

This meeting is accessible to people with disabilities.
