Public Meeting Notice Taunton River Trail at Sweets Knoll SP Improvements Project Design Concept Public Meeting
Overview of Taunton River Trail at Sweets Knoll SP Improvements Project Design Concept Public Meeting
At this virtual public meeting, the project team will present the design concept documents for a 2-mile rail trail within Sweets Knoll State Park, along with associated trailheads, parking and access. The trail would run on the alignment of the existing DCR-owned rail right-of-way between Sandpiper Way in the North and the Town of Dighton-owned parking lot across Somerset Avenue from Alice’s Last Stop. Part of a larger envisioned regional multi-use path, this segment would provide recreational opportunities for Dighton residents as well as access to the Taunton River, town offices and athletic facilities, and other local amenities.
The public will be invited to ask questions and provide feedback on the presentation, using the Q&A functionality that will be available through the virtual participation platform. After the meeting, the presentation will be available for viewing at https://www.mass.gov/dcr/past-public-meetings. DCR encourages the public to share additional feedback, with a deadline for receipt of comments by DCR of October 6th, 2022. Comments may be submitted online at http://www.mass.gov/dcr/public-comment. Please note that the content of comments you submit to DCR, along with your name, town, and zip code, will be posted on DCR's website. Additional contact information required when commenting, notably email address, will only be used for outreach on future updates on the subject project or property.
