Overview of The Governor's Task Force on Hate Crimes Listening Session
The Governor's Task Force on Hate Crimes, established pursuant to Executive Order No. 578, is a listening session at the Lawrence Public Library this July to seek input on the issues of hate crimes, hate events, and biased based incidents in schools and other educational settings. All members of the public are welcome and invited to provide input, comments, and feedback on the following topics:
- Best practices for identifying hate crimes, hate events, and bias based incidents in school communities
- Major obstacles facing educators, administrators, school nurses, and counselors addressing hate crimes, hate events, and biased based incidents in school communities
- Suggestions and recommendations for addressing hate crimes, hate events, and bias based incidents in school communities
Please note:
- Task Force members will not be answering questions at the listening sessions.
- Input from members of the public will be limited by time constraints and should be focused on the topics listed above.
- Written submissions are welcomed and may be submitted to the Governor's Task Force on Hate Crimes by letter, or email, to the addresses listed below.
Please submit all written comments no later than July 31st, 2018.
