Overview   of Virtual Public Information Meeting - Route 28 Resurfacing and Road Diet Pilot Project

MassDOT will host a virtual public meeting on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 to share information about the MassDOT Route 28 Resurfacing and Road Diet Pilot Project and continuing the pilot into the spring 2021. After a brief presentation by the project team, members of the public will be given the opportunity to ask questions and share feedback about the project.

Project Summary: The Reading Route 28 Road Diet Pilot began in late April 2020 and will now be extended through the winter months into 2021 to allow a more comprehensive sampling of data to be collected and evaluated during future time frames when traffic volumes may be more comparatively aligned to pre-COVID-19 levels.

MassDOT is testing new lane configurations to improve safety and access along Route 28 (Main Street) as part of the Route 28 Resurfacing and Road Diet Pilot Project which also includes repaving and restriping the roadway.
