Overview of Wachusett Watershed Guided Hike: Gate 8
Meet at Wachusett Reservoir Gate 8, Intersection of Cross Street and Route 70, Boylston. About 3 miles round trip.
These morning hikes will meet at new locations each week around the Wachusett Reservoir. Hikes will be along forest roads and footpaths with some inclines to rewarding shoreline views of the water supply that provides clean drinking water to over three million people. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, and bring water. Bring trekking poles, ice cleats, or snowshoes depending on trail condition.
Dogs are not allowed on water supply protection lands.
Hikes will be a slow pace and last about 2 hours. In the case of inclement weather, hike may be cancelled or modified. To check on hike status please call 774-261-1809 or email Kathryn.Parent@mass.gov.
