Wachusett Watershed Guided Hike: Gate 8 to the Narrows 3/9/2024

Meet at Wachusett Reservoir Gate 8, Intersection of Cross Street and Route 70, Boylston. About 2.5 miles round trip.

Hike will be along forest roads and footpaths with some inclines as we meet the shore at the narrowest part of the reservoir that provides clean drinking water to over three million people. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, and bring water. Bring trekking poles, ice cleats, or snowshoes depending on trail condition.

Dogs are not allowed on water supply protection lands.

Hikes will be a slow pace and last about 1.5 hours. In the case of inclement weather, hike may be cancelled or modified. To check on hike status please call 617-352-4044 or email Kathryn.Parent@mass.gov.
