New Background Record Check (BRC) requirements go into effect on October 1, 2018 and will continue to be phased in through September 30, 2020, due to changes to the federal Child Care Development Block Grant (CCDBG) which funds early education and care programs in Massachusetts. As a result, there will be significant changes to the Department of Early Education and Care's BRC process.
