Haverhill-Methuen bridge replacements

MassDOT is replacing structurally deficient bridges carrying I-495 over the Merrimack River and carrying Industrial Avenue over I-495 in Haverhill and Methuen.

Construction will begin in the summer of 2025 to replace four bridges in Haverhill and Methuen. The existing bridges remain safe but are reaching the end of their service life and must be replaced. Visit the traffic and construction updates link below for the most up-to-date project developments.
