What you need

Master Plumber License Applications must be completed online. Applications mailed to the board will be returned. 

To complete an application, enter all required information and upload the following documents: 

  • Statement of Experience and Education Verification Form completed with your Journeyman Plumber License Number, signed by an official at your school and signed by your plumbing instructor.
  • Criminal Offender Record Information Acknowledgement (CORI) Form. The second page of this form must be notarized.
  • 2x2 Passport-Style Photo

Fees

The Board of Examiners collects a non-refundable Application Fee. When you pass the exam, you'll need to pay a License Fee at the test center. Payment methods include:

  • Credit card (VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover)
  • Money order
  • Cashier's check or company check (made payable to PSI Exams)
  • Active military members, spouses, and veterans may get fee reductions under the Valor Act.

How to apply

  • Applications, renewals, and reinstatements must be submitted online through the eLIPSE portal.
  • You will be asked to submit all required documents via the eLIPSE platform and will be notified of any required next steps.
  • Payment will also be made via the eLIPSE platform.

Next steps

  1. Get approval to take the Master Plumber exam

    • The Board reviews your application and either approves or denies it.
    • If incomplete or not meeting requirements, the application is returned with instructions for completion.
  2. Schedule your exam

    • If approved, you'll be notified by PSI Exams and can register online to take the exam.
  3. Take the exam

    • Choose a test site and take the exam.
    • Scores are available immediately.
    • If you don’t pass, you can retake it within 12 months.
  4. Get your license

    • If you pass, pay the licensing fee at the test site to get your license.
