What you need

To qualify for a State Library of Massachusetts library card, you must be a current, permanent employee of Executive, Legislative, or Judicial branches of government in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and have valid Commonwealth of Massachusetts identification.

Other visitors can receive guest passes that will allow them to use public access computers and databases while in the Library for two hours.  These guest passes do not allow State Library borrowing privileges.

The State Library participates in interlibrary borrowing of some of its collections with Massachusetts public libraries and with other libraries through OCLC Worldcat You can request materials in Massachusetts libraries through Commonwealth Catalog (ComCat) with a valid Massachusetts public library card. Contact your local Massachusetts library for more information or assistance.
