MassEVIP Workplace & Fleet Charging is one of several MassDEP rolling grant programs aimed at making electric vehicles (EVs) and EV charging stations more widely available across Massachusetts.
The Workplace & Fleet Charging Program provides incentives for employers and fleet operators to acquire and install Level 1 and Level 2 EV charging stations. Applicants with 15 or more employees in non-residential places of business are eligible.
MassDEP provides up to 60 percent of the funding to a maximum of $50,000 per street address for hardware and installation costs.
Level 1 and Level 2 AC (not DC) electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) sold and installed in Massachusetts must comply with the Energy Star energy efficiency standards and be listed in the State Appliance Standards Database (SASD). If at any point you want to change your current approved equipment, be sure that your new equipment is also listed in the SASD.
See the program requirements and frequently asked questions below to learn more.
Note: If your project is not for the purchase/installation of charging stations at a workplace or for a fleet operation, scroll to Step 5 below to Learn About Other MassEVIP Programs for which you might be eligible.
Follow the link below to complete your application. Submit one application per street address. If you would like to apply for multiple street addresses, submit a separate application for each location. MassDEP accepts applications on a first-come, first-served basis until all available funding is spent.
Note: You will be asked to upload a current Form W-9 as part of the online application process. This must have been signed and dated within the past year. A blank is provided below for your convenience.
Please email email@example.com if you need the application in an alternate format, or to be placed on the mailing list for future MassEVIP funding opportunities.
The agency begins by verifying your eligibility and checking your application for completeness. If you are not eligible, we will inform you by email.
After receiving your complete application, MassDEP will issue you an approval letter and contract documents.
Once you sign and return your contract documents to MassDEP, you will need to acquire and install the equipment and make it operational within a specific time frame:
