The Details
What you need
You need the following information to create your MassTaxConnect account:
- Your Social Security number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), and;
- One of the following:
- A tax return amount from one of your last 3 returns; this is the amount reported as “Income tax after credits” on your Form 1 or Form 1-NR/PY
- A refund amount from one of your last 3 returns
- The Letter ID from a letter you received informing you about signing up for MassTaxConnect. For a list of eligible letters, visit MassTaxConnect registration for individual filers.
How to apply
To create your MassTaxConnect account, follow these steps:
- Go to MassTaxConnect.
- Click "Create my Logon."
- Select “I am an individual who has previously filed taxes in the state of Massachusetts,”click Next, and then:
- Follow prompts, entering the appropriate information.
