What you need   for File a complaint with the I-Pay-Tax Program

To file a complaint, you will need to provide the following information:

  • Plate number
  • State of registration
  • Description of vehicle
  • Address where vehicle is located
  • Description of any activity leading you to believe the vehicle is improperly registered

Notification to customer

A letter is mailed to the Massachusetts address that appears on the complaint form and to the out-of-state address obtained from the Criminal Justice Information System.

The customer has 20 days to respond/comply.

If information is not provided to I-Pay-Tax Compliance within 20 days, the RMV will schedule a formal hearing for the customer, and a hearing notice will be sent to the customer.
