What you need   for Off-Highway Vehicle Safety Certificate Course

In order to get an OHV Safety and Responsibility Course completion certificate, you must complete two courses. The first course is the online safety course offered by an approved provider. Upon successful completion of that course, you must complete a two hour classroom course which will cover Massachusetts-specific content.

Step 1: Sign up and complete an online OHV safety course.  A list of approved course providers is shown below. 
Please note:  This step must be completed before proceeding to step 2.

Step 2: Sign up for a Massachusetts OHV Safety Course

  • Upon completion of an approved online course you may enroll in an Massachusetts Environmental Police OHV safety certificate course.

Receiving your OHV safety certificate

Upon successful completion of the Massachusetts Environmental Police OHV safety course, students will receive a safety certificate.

Please note: Vehicle operators who are under the age of 18 are required to complete this course and carry the OHV Safety Certificate with them while riding.
