What you need
Reciprocity requirements:
- Photo ID
- Completed CORI Form.
- Upload the certificate of standing(s) from each state or jurisdiction in which you are licensed or certified.
- SUBMISSION TO THE MASSACHUSETTS ARCHITECT BOARD:
After reviewing Massachusetts Laws and Rules governing the licensing and practice of architecture. Complete and UPLOAD the application under the downloads section, as backup through the ePlace Portal application process.

- REQUISITION TO NCARB:
Please submit your request for authorization to transmit your file either:
Online at www.ncarb.org with a credit card,
OR
BY MAIL, contact the NCARB for proper fee assessment, complete and return the Authorization for Transmittal of Council Record, Form 182 for Massachusetts, to NCARB.

All fees are non-transferable and non-refundable.

How to apply
- Applications, renewals, and reinstatements must be submitted online through the eLIPSE portal.
- You will be asked to submit all required documents via the eLIPSE platform, including a DOL CORI form. Once submitted, you will be notified of any required next steps.
- Payment will also be made via the eLIPSE platform.

Incomplete applications will be held open for 180 days from the date of application receipt to allow applicants to provide the missing information or documentation. After 180 days, the incomplete application will be considered abandoned, and applicants will need to submit a new application and payment.
