Register as a MassHealth provider on the Provider Online Service Center (POSC)

The Provider Online Service Center (POSC) allows enrolled providers to view member eligibility, update provider information, submit and check claims, obtain and manage service authorizations, and conduct other self-service activities.

What you need for Register as a MassHealth provider on the Provider Online Service Center (POSC)

Download the Data Collection Form and Registration Instructions [POSC-DC]. (MS Word format listed below)

  • Submit this form to MassHealth to identify a primary user (account administrator) for your organization. The primary user creates and inactivates users’ accounts and resets password.

Once the primary user is registered, they will need to:

  • Create subordinate IDs for all other users within your organization
  • Authorize access for additional users in your organization, as well as business partners such as billing agencies

  2. Fill out the form.
  3. Email the completed application to PINregistrationsupport@mahealth.net.
  4. You will receive a confirmation email from Virtual Gateway with your POSC login information.
    • Follow the instructions to set up your account

Primary use account

You can set up a primary user account to:

  • Serve as the administrator of the account
  • Provide access to more users by setting up subordinate IDs
  • Link subordinate users in the POSC so they can view and submit transactions

Subordinate Access

  • You must maintain subordinate access, and notify MassHealth of any change in information
  • There is no limit to the number of subordinates assigned to an account
  • If a primary user no longer has that role, the provider must assign a new primary user and remove the previous user's access
  • The new primary user must then submit a Data Collection Form (DCF) along with a cover letter to let us know that the facility is changing primary user
  • Providers cannot continue using the primary user ID of someone who is no longer employed
  • Providers should audit their primary user(s) and subordinate(s) to be certain they are up-to-date
