What you need
Licenses and permits issued by the Office of Outdoor Advertising are valid for 12 months and are renewed annually. The OOA will invoice advertisers with active license and permit inventories to renew for the upcoming year.
Renewals
Dear MassDOT Outdoor Advertising Vendors,
We thank you for your patience over the past year as we work towards launching this new online platform for MassDOT Outdoor Advertising license and permit renewals. This platform is intended to streamline this process by eliminating the paper-based renewal forms and requires a few additional steps for users to set up accounts for this new system.
As a designated contact for a licensed and/or permitted advertiser, your email address was registered to receive an invitation with a link allowing you to create a GeoDOT account. GeoDOT is a secure MassDOT platform where your log-in information will be created and stored.
- Once you receive the invite email, follow the link to activate your GeoDOT Account.
- The GeoDOT account creation page will already have a username assigned to you and will include a temporary password.
- Update your temporary password to a permanent password so you can use it each time you access the license and permit renewal online platform.
- More information will be forthcoming on how to use the renewal platform itself.

Online Renewal Application
Welcome to the new MassDOT Office of Outdoor Advertising (OOA) Online License and Permit Renewal Portal. This is a new web application created to modernize and streamline the annual OOA license and permit renewal process, replacing the paper-based steps with a self-guided online interface.
This process should feel familiar as it retains many of the same forms as used in previous years. Please note that the license and permit renewal process remains governed by Chapter 3.00 of Title 700 of the Code of Massachusetts Regulations, which is not superseded or modified either by these instructions or by the portal/application.
Before you can access the application, you will need an active GeoDOT account. (see above on GeoDOT) Please note that you will not be able to begin the License and Permit Renewal process until you have clicked the link in your email invitation activating your GeoDOT account.
