What you need for Renew my Lapsed Acupuncture License
Acumpuncturists require a license to practice acupuncture independently in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and must renew every two years. A licensee who has ever held an acupuncture license in Massachusetts that was not renewed before the renewal deadline must complete a lapsed license renewal to revive their license.
Remember: If your license lapses, YOU MAY NOT PRACTICE ACUPUNCTURE IN MASSACHUSETTS IN ANY FASHION OR CAPACITY UNTIL YOUR LICENSE IS REVIVED BY THE BOARD.

How to renew Renew my Lapsed Acupuncture License
You may renew a lapsed licenses online by creating an account on our license management system at medboard.mass.gov, linking your account to your license, and viewing your license record.
Click on "Show details", then click on the "Start an Acupuncturist License - Lapsed Renewal Application" link. Click on "Start Application" to begin the process.
You will find detailed instructions to guide you through the lapsed renewal process. You will be able to upload any required documents, and pay the renewal fee via Credit Card or ACH transfer.
Please note that the lapsed renewal is comparable to applying for and receiving an initial license

Although we encourage all applicants to renew online, you may request a paper application by calling the Board at 781-876-8230.
Please note that submitting a paper application may lead to SIGNIFICANT additional processing times for the review and approval of your renewal.
